In the Book of Mormon I read that the words which the Lord had commanded King Benjamin to speak to the people who stand against them on judgment day and they would be judged accordingly. Those who make evil choices would be filled with guilt because of the abominations and they would be punished with damnation to their souls. Mosiah 3:23-27 "And now I have spoken the words which the Lord God hath commanded me. And thus saith the Lord: They shall stand as a bright testimony against this people, at the judgment day; whereof they shall be judged, every man according to his works, whether they be good, or whether they be evil. And if they be evil they are consigned to an awful view of their own guilt and abominations, which doth cause them to shrink from the presence of the Lord into a state of misery and endless torment, from whence they can no more return; therefore they have drunk damnation to their own souls. Therefore, they have drunk out of the cup of the wrath of God, which justice could no more deny unto them than it could deny that Adam should fall because of his partaking of the forbidden fruit; therefore, mercy could have claim on them no more forever. And their torment is as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flames are unquenchable, and whose smoke ascendeth up forever and ever. Thus hath the Lord commanded me. Amen."
In the Old Testament I read a verse that tells us God created a help meet for Adam because it is not good that man should be alone. Genesis 2:18 "And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that the trial of our faith precedes salvation. 1 Peter 1:6-9 "Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."
