Daily Thoughts Thursday

My computer is fixed but they're still working to recover data so it may be
a few more days before I can go pick it up. I thought I'd better send off
some more Daily Thoughts while this old computer is up and running.

In the Book of Mormon I read that the rising generation did not believe in
Christ or the resurrection of the dead. Because of their unbelief, their
hearts were hardened and they could not understand the Word of God. This
is
also true today. Those who harden their hearts and refuse to believe do
not
really understand the things of the Spirit. Mosiah 26:1-3 "Now it came to
pass that there were many of the rising generation that could not
understand
the words of king Benjamin, being little children at the time he spake unto
his people; and they did not believe the tradition of their fathers. They
did not believe what had been said concerning the resurrection of the dead,
neither did they believe concerning the coming of Christ. And now because
of
their unbelief they could not understand the word of God; and their hearts
were hardened."

In the Old Testament we read that after many years the children of Israel
multiplied greatly and a new king rose up in Egypt who did not know Joseph.

He didn't like how mighty the children of Israel had become and set burdens
upon them to afflict them. Exodus 1:6-13 "And Joseph died, and all his
brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were
fruitful, and
increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the
land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which
knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the
children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal
wisely with
them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out
any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get
them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to
afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure
cities,
Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they
multiplied
and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the
Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:"

A verse from a thought booklet says that above all else we should have
charity for each other, which can cover a multitude of sins. The most
important
thing we can do is love one another! 1 Peter 4:8 "And above all things
have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the
multitude of
sins."</HTML>
