Daily Thoughts Wednesday

In the Book of Mormon I read that whatever is good comes from God and whoever brings forth evil works is a child of the devil. Alma 5:40-42 "For I say unto you that whatsoever is good cometh from God, and whatsoever is evil cometh from the devil. Therefore, if a man bringeth forth good works he hearkeneth unto the voice of the good shepherd, and he doth follow him; but whosoever bringeth forth evil works, the same becometh a child of the devil, for he hearkeneth unto his voice, and doth follow him. And whosoever doeth this must receive his wages of him; therefore, for his wages he receiveth death, as to things pertaining unto righteousness, being dead unto all good works."

In the Old Testament we read that Aaron and his sons were to be consecrated and anointed to minister in the priest's office. Exodus 28:1 "And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us to bless those who persecute us instead of cursing them, and don't pay back evil when we receive evil at the hands of others. We need to live in harmony with other people and not think we're superior to them. We should rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep, being a true friend to them. Romans 12:14-17 "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men."
