Daily Thoughts -- Monday

I may possibly be without Internet access for a few days so I'm sending these in advance.

In the D&C I read that we should not fear to do good because whatever we sow, we shall reap.  D&C 6:33 "Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward."

In the Old Testament we read that even when the sorrows of hell and death surround us, in our distress we can call upon God who will hear our voice.  Our cries come unto His ears.  No matter what our problems or troubles, we can turn to the Lord for help.  He will be there for us.  Psalms 18:5-6 "The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet are familiar.  One verse tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto us.  It's important to put our priorities straight and put God first in our lives.  If we do that, other things will fall into place.  The second verse reminds us to take one day at a time.  Instead of worrying about what will happen tomorrow, concentrate on today.  There are enough problems to deal with today without adding what may or may not happen tomorrow.  Matthew 6:33-34 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
