In the D&C I read that we need to listen to the words of Christ and learn of Him, walking in meekness of Spirit. If we do this, we'll find peace in Him. D&C 19:23 "Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me."
In the Old Testament we read that the Lord would have let the Israelites triumph over their enemies had they walked in His ways and not turned to other gods. But they would not hearken to His voice, but insisted on walking in their own counsels. Psalms 81:8-16 "Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us to comfort and edify one another. We need to be sensitive to other people and try to help them if they're going through a difficult time, and try to strengthen them and build them up if they are faltering. Look around today and see if there is someone you can make a difference to. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do."
