Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that we should pray at all times and in all circumstances, both verbally and in our hearts, in public and in private.  And we should declare the glad tidings of the gospel, with humility and trusting in the Lord.  We should not revile against those who revile against us.  D&C 19:28-30 "And again, I command thee that thou shalt pray vocally as well as in thy heart; yea, before the world as well as in secret, in public as well as in private. And thou shalt declare glad tidings, yea, publish it upon the mountains, and upon every high place, and among every people that thou shalt be permitted to see. And thou shalt do it with all humility, trusting in me, reviling not against revilers."

In the Old Testament we're told that those who trust in the Lord will be blessed and that the Lord will give grace and glory and not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly.  So if we'll keep the commandments and trust in the Lord, our blessings will abound!  Psalms 84:11-12 "For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.  O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell about how Thomas believed once he saw Jesus with his own eyes.  Jesus said that those who can believe without seeing are even more blessed.  We have not seen Jesus ourselves, but we will be blessed for having faith in Him.  John 20:28-29 "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
