Daily Thoughts

In the D&C I read that we should not be weary in well doing, for we are laying the foundation of a great work.  Out of small things, great things can proceed. The Lord requires us to have a willing heart and mind and to be obedient.  If we are righteous, we'll be blessed, but the rebellious will be cut off.  D&C 64:33-35 "Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind; and the willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days. And the rebellious shall be cut off out of the land of Zion, and shall be sent away, and shall not inherit the land."

In the Old Testament we read that Jeremiah tells the people that he has been sent by the Lord to prophesy against them and tell them to amend their ways and obey the voice of the Lord.  However, he is in their hands and they can do with him as they wish.  But if they put him to death, they will shed innocent blood which they'll be held accountable for. Jeremiah 26:12-15 "Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard. Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you. As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.  But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the Lord hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears."

A verse with a thought booklet reminds us that even if heaven and earth pass away, the words of the Lord will not pass away.  Everything the Lord has promised will all be fulfilled.  Luke 21:33 "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away."
