Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read why we must be careful who we vote for and make sure we vote for honest and wise people. I just wish there were more honest and wise people running for office!  D&C 98:9-10 "Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn. Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil."

In the Old Testament we read that we reap what we sow.  I we sow righteousness and seek the Lord, we'll reap mercy. If we plow wickedness and trust in ourselves and mighty men instead of the Lord, we'll reap iniquity.  How we live our lives has consequences.  Hosea 10:12-13 "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed, mountains can be moved and nothing will be impossible to us.  With God, all things are possible.  Matthew 17:20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
