Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that the day of the Lord is at hand and those who will be able to abide the day of His coming will be those who have been refined and purified.  D&C 128:24 "Behold, the great day of the Lord is at hand; and who can abide the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter-day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness; and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation."

In the New Testament we read some verses in which Jesus tells us that if we truly have faith, all things are possible for us.  A man who wanted his son healed cried out with tears, saying he did believe, but wanted Jesus to help his unbelief.  Sometimes I've felt like that.  I've had faith, but wondered if it was strong enough, praying to the Lord to increase my faith. Indeed, if our faith is sufficient, miracles will occur.  Mark 9:23-24 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."

In some scriptures with a thought booklet we read that God is our salvation and glory; He is our rock and with Him we shall not be moved.  We can trust in Him at all times and pour out our hearts to Him, and He will be a refuge for us.  Psalms 62:5-8 " My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."
