Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that if a man seeks to build himself up instead of seeking the counsel of the Lord, he will have no power and his folly will manifest itself.  D&C 136: 19 " And if any man shall seek to build up himself, and seeketh not my counsel, he shall have no power, and his folly shall be made manifest."

In the New Testament we read about how valuable we are to God.  Even sparrows which are of little monetary value are not forgotten by God.  How much more are we worth than sparrows?  Even the very hairs of our head are numbered to God.  Luke 12:6-7 "Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?  But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."

In some verses with a thought booklet we read that the Lord is full of grace and compassion and is good to all, with his tender mercies being shown to all His works.  He is slow to anger and greatly to be praised.  Psalms 145:8-10 "The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.  All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee."
