Daily Thoughts
In the P of GP we read about the second day of creation in which God divided the waters from under the firmament from the waters above it. Moses 2:6-8 "And again, I, God, said: Let there be a firmament in the midst of the water, and it was so, even as I spake; and I said: Let it divide the waters from the waters; and it was done; And I, God, made the firmament and divided the waters, yea, the great waters under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so even as I spake. And I, God, called the firmament Heaven; and the evening and the morning were the second day."
In the New Testament we read that the doctrines that Jesus taught were not His, but His that sent Him--our Heavenly Father. If we want to know whether the doctrines of the gospel are true and of God or not, we need to live them. It is only by living them that we gain a testimony of their truthfulness. John 7:16-17 "Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
A verse with a thought booklet gives a prophesy of a virgin conceiving and bearing a son and named Him Immanuel. Immanuel means "God with us." Not only was this prophesy fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ being born of a virgin, but it also demonstrates hope for the world--that the Son of God came to live among us and we could trust in His presence always, even during difficult times. He will ever be with us. Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
