In the P of GP we read that Abraham's fathers were so wicked that they sacrificed their children to idols and sought to take away Abraham's life. Abraham 1:7 "Therefore they turned their hearts to the sacrifice of the heathen in offering up their children unto these dumb idols, and hearkened not unto my voice, but endeavored to take away my life by the hand of the priest of Elkenah. The priest of Elkenah was also the priest of Pharaoh."
In the New Testament we read that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Does that mean, then, that we have no hope? No! We can still be justified through the grace and redemption of Jesus Christ which He freely gave us. He suffered for our sins and if we're willing to accept His sacrifice and repent of our sins, we can be forgiven There is hope indeed! Romans 3:23-24 " For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that with the Lord as our light and our salvation, we don't need to be afraid. There is nothing to fear when we allow the Lord to be our strength and the stronghold of our lives. We all feel afraid at times, allowing worry to overtake us. But the way to overcome fear is to turn to God and allow Him to handle all our fears for us. When He is our helper, there is no need to be afraid! We can indeed trust in the Lord to be our stronghold. Psalms 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
