Daily Thoughts (Again)

Somebody let me know that the previous Daily Thoughts I sent out came out blank.  Sorry about that.  Here they are again.  If anybody has problems getting them, I appreciate you letting me know.

In the P of GP we read about how the sun will be darkened and the stars will fall from heaven.  All the words of the Lord will be fulfilled.  Joseph Smith Matthew 1:33-35 "And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  Verily, I say unto you, this generation, in which these things shall be shown forth, shall not pass away until all I have told you shall be fulfilled.  Although, the days will come, that heaven and earth shall pass away; yet my words shall not pass away, but all shall be fulfilled."

In the New Testament we read that God loves a cheerful giver who does not give grudgingly or because they're forced to do it.  When we give, we need to make sure we do it with the right attitude, grateful for the opportunity we have to help others.  2 Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that after Joseph was unjustly imprisoned, the Lord was still with him and prospered him even in the circumstances he was in.  The keeper of the prison even put Joseph in charge of the other prisoners. Sometime we find ourselves in less than ideal circumstances.  But if we'll continually turn to the Lord and do our best to obey Him, He will still help us, guide us, and direct our lives so that we can be the best that we can be.  No matter what our situation is, the Lord can use us.  Genesis 39:20-23 "And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.  And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.  The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper."
