Daily Thoughts

In the P of GP we read about how after the days of tribulation, the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens and all will see Him coming in the clouds with great glory.  Joseph Smith Matthew 1:36 "And, as I said before, after the tribulation of those days, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken, then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn; and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory;"

In the New Testament we read Paul's account of some of the trials and persecutions he suffered--beaten beaten, stoned, robbed, shipwrecked, suffering from hunger, thirst and cold, and barely escaping from the hands of Damascus by being let down through a window in a basket from a wall. But through all that,  he continued to try to take care of all the churches and to ear witness of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.   2 Corinthians 11:24-33 "Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.  Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;  In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;  In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.  Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.  Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?  If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.  The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.  In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands."

In a verse with a thought booklet were told to take ever opportunity do good for all men, especially those of faith.  Do we seek for opportunities to serve and bless the lives of others?  If we'll pray and let the Lord know we're willing, He will prompt us on ways we can help others and guide us to be sensitive to their needs. And it's not just in big ways that we can help others, but it is often in small acts of kindness that we can make a difference in many lives.  Galatians 6:10 "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
