Daily Thoughts

In the P of GP we read about how Heavenly Father wanted to send someone to earth to help us.  Jesus offered to come, and so did Satan, but God chose Jesus, which made Satan very angry.  Abraham 3:27-28 "And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first. And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him."

In the New Testament we read that if any man loves God, that man will be known by God.  1 Corinthians 8:3 "But if any man love God, the same is known of him."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that God hears and answers the prayers of all those who reverence Him.  He will not turn away from our prayers nor turn away His mercy from us.  However, if we regard iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear us.  We need to keep our lives and our thoughts pure in order to keep the line of communication open between us and the Lord.  Isaiah 66:16-20 "For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.  For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.  And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.  And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord."
