In the P of GP we read about how Eve was created as a helpmeet for Adam. Abraham 5: 14-18 "And the Gods said: Let us make an help meet for the man, for it is not good that the man should be alone, therefore we will form an help meet for him. And the Gods caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and he slept, and they took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in the stead thereof; And of the rib which the Gods had taken from man, formed they a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said: This was bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; now she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man; Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh."
In the New Testament we read about the reality of the resurrection of the dead. Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Just like Adam, all men die, but because of Jesus Christ, all men shall be made alive. So our corruptible bodies must put on incorrputible and our mortal bodies put on immortality. And death is swallowed up in victory. Thanks to God, Jesus Christ won victory over death. We need to remain steadfast and immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord and knowing that our labors are not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 22, 53-58 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that we are saved by hope. But hope is not something that we have already seen and know. We hope for things we have not seen, but which we patiently wait for. We need patience and faith to realize that God's gifts don't necessarily come in the manner we ask for, but they always come in His way, and His perfect timing. Romans 8:24-25 "For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
