In Articles of Faith 4 we read about the first principles of the gospel which are faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Articles of Faith 4 "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost."
In the New Testament it tells us that we can have confidence that when we ask anything of God, if it is His will, He will hear us and we can know that He will grant the petitions that we desire. If it appears that sometimes our prayers are not answered, it may be that we're asking for something that is not God's will and would not really be what is best for us. We may not be able to see the reasons why God sometimes has to answer no to our requests because we have limited understanding compared to God, but we can trust in Him and know that He'll answer our prayers in the way that is best. We can have confidence in that! 1 John 5:14-15 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that even though we may suffer at the present time, it is nothing when compared to the glory we'll receive in the world to come. This life is but a small moment compared to eternity, and if we endure it well, we'll receive a wonderful reward which we cannot even imagine. Romans 8:18 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
