Daily Thoughts

In Articles of Faith 12 we read that we need to respect the law and the leaders of our nation, being subject unto them.  Articles of Faith 12 "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law."

In the New Testament we read that an angel would preach the everlasting gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people, telling them to give glory to God for the hour of His judgment is come.  Revelation 14:6-7 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."

Some verses with a thought booklet remind us that we've saved by hope.  But hope that is seen isn't hope.  We hope for things that cannot yet be seen, but which we patiently wait for.  A woman who gets discouraged by long winters keeps pictures of wild flowers on her wall to remind her that spring will indeed come, she just needs to be patient.  Likewise when we're going through difficult struggles in our lives it can seem like a long winter that threatens to crush our spirits, but we can remind ourselves of the many good things God has done for us in our lives and trust in Him to bring good out of our circumstances. Romans 8:24-25 "For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
