In the Book of Mormon we continue to read the words of Isaiah. The law proceeds forth from the Lord and His judgment will be a light for the people. They can trust on the arm of the Lord. The earth may wax old and vanish away like smoke, but the salvation of the Lord will be forever and His righteousness will not be abolished. 2 Nephi 8:4-6 "Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation; for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light for the people. My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arm shall judge the people. The isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner. But my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished."
In the Old Testament we read that the Lord told Joshua not to fear their enemies for He had delivered them into his hands. When we trust in the Lord, we have nothing to fear. He will take care of us. Joshua 10:8 "And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that the Lord loves a cheerful giver. So we need to give with the right purpose in our hearts, not because we're forced to or with a grudging attitude. 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
