Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that Mosiah wanted to know what happened to the people who had gone up to dwell in the land of Lehi-Nephi because he had heard nothing from them.  So he sent 16 strong men to go up and inquire of them.  Mosiah 7:1-2 "And now, it came to pass that after king Mosiah had had continual peace for the space of three years, he was desirous to know concerning the people who went up to dwell in the land of Lehi-Nephi, or in the city of Lehi-Nephi; for his people had heard nothing from them from the time they left the land of Zarahemla; therefore, they wearied him with their teasings.  And it came to pass that king Mosiah granted that sixteen of their strong men might go up to the land of Lehi-Nephi, to inquire concerning their brethren."

In the Old Testament we read that there is no darkness, nor even the shadow of death, which can hide those who work iniquity.  Job 34:22 "There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves."

In some scriptures with a thought booklet we read that Abraham, because he had such great faith, was willing to go to a strange land, not knowing what he was going to find there.  But because he was commanded to do it, he obeyed.  Sometimes we're asked to do things by the Lord that require us to get out of our comfort zones and venture into territory which is new and unfamiliar to us.  It can be scary!  But if we truly have faith, we'll obey and do whatever is required of us, knowing that the Lord will help us every step of the way.  Hebrews 11:8-9 "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:"
