In the Book of Mormon we read that Ammon, a strong and mighty man lead some people into the wilderness trying to find the land of Lehi-Nephi. They wandered for 40 days, not knowing which way to go. Mosiah 7:3-5 "And it came to pass that on the morrow they started to go up, having with them one Ammon, he being a strong and mighty man, and a descendant of Zarahemla; and he was also their leader. And now, they knew not the course they should travel in the wilderness to go up to the land of Lehi-Nephi; therefore they wandered many days in the wilderness, even forty days did they wander. And when they had wandered forty days they came to a hill, which is north of the land of Shilom, and there they pitched their tents."
In the Old Testament we read that those who do evil may hurt other men, and our righteousness can help them. So our sins effect not only ourselves, but those around us as well. Job 35:8 "Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us to bear one another's burdens. Do we try to look for ways to serve others? Are we sensitive to their needs? Do we do whatever we can to lighten their loads? Galatians 6:2 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."
