Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that Zeniff and his people cried unto the Lord for strength to battle against the Lamanites. The Lord answered their prayers and they slew 3,043 f them and drove them out of their land.  Mosiah 9:17-19 "Yea, in the strength of the Lord did we go forth to battle against the Lamanites; for I and my people did cry mightily to the Lord that he would deliver us out of the hands of our enemies, for we were awakened to a remembrance of the deliverance of our fathers. And God did hear our cries and did answer our prayers; and we did go forth in his might; yea, we did go forth against the Lamanites, and in one day and a night we did slay three thousand and forty-three; we did slay them even until we had driven them out of our land.  And I, myself, with mine own hands, did help to bury their dead. And behold, to our great sorrow and lamentation, two hundred and seventy-nine of our brethren were slain."

In the Old Testament we read that the Lord will guide and teach the meek.  If we're prideful and think we already know it all, our hearts aren't open to the guidance of the Lord.  But if we're humble, the Lord can guide and direct us.  Psalms 25:9 "The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way."

And going right along with the theme of the importance f humility a verse with a thought booklet tells us that humility and reverence for the Lord give us riches and honor and life.  Proverbs 22:4 "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life."
