In the Book of Mormon I read about how the proud and lofty will be humbled and brought low. It's much better that we humble ourselves so that we don't have to wait for the Lord to humble us. 2 Ne. 12: 11-12 "And it shall come to pass that the lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of Hosts soon cometh upon all nations, yea, upon every one; yea, upon the proud and lofty, and upon every one who is lifted up, and he shall be brought low."
In the New Testament I read that those who preach the gospel also need to live the gospel. In other words, we need to practice what we preach! 1 Corinthians 9:14 "Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that there is no hiding from the Lord! No matter what we do or where we go, He will find us and know what we're up to. Darkness will not hide us from Him either--dark and light are both the same to Him and He sees all that occurs in either. Since we can't hide from the Lord, we'd best make sure we're not doing anything we wouldn't want Him to see us doing! Psalms 139:7-12 "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee."
