Daily Thoughts Sunday

In the Book of Mormon we're told that the Lord chastens His people and
tries their faith, but if we'll put our trust in Him, we'll be lifted up at
the
last day. Mosiah 23:21-22 "Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his
people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith. Nevertheless—
whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last
day. Yea,
and thus it was with this people."

A verse in the Old Testament tells about the wonderful, joyous reunion
between Joseph and his father. It says

he fell on his neck and wept a good while. Can you just picture this
father and son seeing each other for the

first time in many years and how happy they were to be together again? The
father thought the son was dead

and had mourned him terribly. But he was alive! And they were together
again! This is the same kind of

reunion we'll each have someday when we pass beyond the veil and are able
to see our loved ones who have

gone on before us. Genesis 46:29 "And Joseph made ready his chariot, and
went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto
him;
and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while."

In some verses with a thought booklet we read an example of a letter
written by Paul. He wrote many letters,

or epistles, to various people. He opens each with his name, gives
personal greetings, and ends with a

blessing. He wrote to individuals and churches and he wrote personal, warm
and encouraging words. His

letters were full of instruction and wisdom and sometimes reproof, but
always showed forth his love. Letters

can mean a lot to the receiver, and sometimes are saved for decades. In the
case of Paul's letters, they've

been saved for centuries! Why not write a letter to someone today and
brighten somebody's day? Philippians 1:1-7 "Paul and Timotheus, the
servants
of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi,
with the bishops and deacons: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our
Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every
remembrance of
you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
For
your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident
of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will
perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ: Even as it is meet for me to think this
of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds,
and
in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my
grace."</HTML>
