In the Book of Mormon we read that the Holy One of Israel will reign in great glory. He will gather his children from all over the world, as a shepherd gathers his sheep. He will feed His sheep and they'll find pasture in Him. The people will be so righteous that Satan will have no power over them. Those who repent will dwell in safety and peace. 1 Nephi 22:24-26" And the time cometh speedily that the righteous must be led up as calves of the stall, and the Holy One of Israel must reign in dominion, and might, and power, and great glory. And he gathereth his children from the four quarters of the earth; and he numbereth his sheep, and they know him; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd; and he shall feed his sheep, and in him they shall find pasture. And because of the righteousness of his people, Satan has no power; wherefore, he cannot be loosed for the space of many years; for he hath no power over the hearts of the people, for they dwell in righteousness, and the Holy One of Israel reigneth."
In the Old Testament we read that the Lord told Moses to send the children of Israel to war against the Midianites--1,000 warriors from every tribe, for a total of 12,000. Numbers 31:1-5 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the Lord of Midian. Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war. So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that a righteous man will have regard for the life of animals, but the kindest acts of a wicked man are cruel. How we treat animals is a good indication of our character. Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."
